It does not create shipment events or control when a courier records its next scan. An uncached lookup waits for the carrier; a recent successful result may come from a short-lived cache to reduce load and improve response time. That means the page shows the latest status available to TrackParcel, while the courier remains the authority for delivery promises, serviceability, disputes, and proof of delivery. If a number format matches several carriers, auto-detection ranks likely candidates and may try another match when the first one has no parcel.
