What auto-detection can confirm
Auto-detection compares the number with known carrier prefixes, lengths, and character patterns. A distinctive format can produce a strong match, but numeric waybills are often shared by several couriers. In those cases the result is a ranked suggestion, not proof that a carrier owns the parcel. TrackParcel confirms a candidate only when that carrier returns a usable shipment response. A valid number can still show no result when it is new, mistyped, not yet scanned, or temporarily unavailable from the carrier. Check the seller's dispatch message when candidates remain ambiguous.
How detection works
We read the format
Courier waybills follow conventions - prefixes like FMPP/FMPC (Ekart) or VL (Valmo), postal S10 numbers ending in the country code, DTDC's letter-and-digit layouts, and digit lengths that narrow it down further.
Candidates come ranked by real traffic
Unique formats get one confident answer. Shared shapes - plain numeric waybills, say - return candidates ranked by what actually tracks successfully on TrackParcel, so the first guess is usually right.

How does auto-detect know which courier my tracking number belongs to?
Every courier uses recognizable tracking-number formats. Ekart numbers start with FMPP or FMPC, Valmo with VL, Trackon with DEL, India Post follows the international postal format ending in IN, Bluedart is exactly 11 digits, Delhivery is 13–16 digits, and so on. We match your number against all of these formats and rank the most likely couriers.
What if multiple couriers use the same tracking number format?
Plain digit-only waybills are used by several carriers. In that case we show ranked candidates - for example an 11-digit number is almost always Bluedart, 12 digits usually means DTDC, and a plain 10-digit number usually belongs to Shree Anjani Courier. The ranking is learned from real lookups on TrackParcel, so the best guess tracks first; if the parcel isn't found there, we automatically try the next candidate.
