Track Dayton Freight LTL shipments by PRO, the freight bill number a Dayton driver assigns at pickup. Scan times are local, converted to IST for one-zone US states; TrackParcel's saved real reply showed only pickup and delivery. No login required.
The tracking tool is still loading. You can type or paste your number now; Track works once it has loaded.
Latest available carrier scans, sometimes from a temporary cache; not live GPS. Check event timestamps. Carrier availability varies.
TrackParcel is independent of Dayton Freight. For claims, redelivery or address changes use the official Dayton Freight website.

On the pre-printed PRO stickers attached to your freight and its paperwork, according to Dayton's glossary. Enter the digits alone: TrackParcel drops spaces and hyphens but keeps a typed “PRO” in front, so that entry gets a not-found answer without any lookup. Auto-Detect never tries Dayton Freight for a plain digit run, so pick it from the courier list.
Dayton shows that generic page for a PRO it does not know, but a fault on its side looks the same. So TrackParcel checks Dayton's Track By Number list next: an empty list means the PRO is reported not found, while a listed PRO means Dayton is reported unavailable.
DLV is Dayton's activity code for the delivered scan, which in a real reply read “delivered to destination”. TrackParcel then shows the shipment as Delivered and prints “Activity code: DLV” under that scan. Dayton's page script counts SAD as delivered too, and PUD and OFD as out for delivery.
The real Dayton reply on file carried no scan history. TrackParcel therefore showed a Picked up line at the origin service center plus the current status scan. Whenever Dayton sends no history, those two lines are all the result can show. Freight moves between service centers without a public scan at each step, so a gap between Picked up and delivered is normal.
Dayton prints each scan in local time with no zone attached. TrackParcel reads it in the zone of the scan's state and shows it converted to IST, labelled IST. It keeps the time as printed, with no zone label, for states split between two zones, among them Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Kansas and Nebraska in Dayton's core area, and for Canadian provinces.
Dayton Freight Lines, Inc., of Dayton, Ohio, describes itself as offering LTL shipping, logistics and freight solutions. Its FAQ names a core service area of 14 states, among them Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin, with Strategic Partners covering the rest of North America.
The same site lists DFXpedited service and DFT, a truckload service powered by Kelley Logistics, each with its own contact team. This page covers a PRO looked up on Dayton's public tracker, which needs no registration, as its FAQ confirms.
Dayton's glossary says a Dayton Freight driver assigns the PRO number at pickup to reference the shipment for administrative, tracking and invoicing purposes. PRO stands for Progressive Rotating Order, and its other name is the freight bill number. The bill of lading is a different paper, provided by the shipper, and a purchase order is the buyer's document.
Dayton's own PRO box takes digits only, at most 11, and TrackParcel applies the same limit after removing spaces and hyphens. A number made only of zeros is refused as well.
TrackParcel reads the Tracking Details page that Dayton's search box opens for a PRO, where the shipment sits in the page as data. It keeps the current status and its activity code, the scan's city and state, the delivery date, the pickup date when no scan history is sent, the origin and destination service centers' city and state, and the weight.
It never reads the signer, shipper, consignee, trailer, bill of lading numbers, purchase orders, appointment window, charges or images. For a date it does not have, Dayton writes a placeholder, and TrackParcel never turns that placeholder into a scan.
For a PRO it does not know, Dayton's detail page returns a generic error that is no proof of a miss on its own. TrackParcel then asks the Track By Number lookup Dayton's own site uses, and only an empty answer there becomes not found.
If that lookup lists the PRO or cannot be read, TrackParcel reports Dayton as unavailable instead. Check the digits against the sticker first, then ask the shipper whether a PRO was issued.
Only Dayton can settle a freight claim, which its FAQ says goes in through the online Claim Form. Its contact page offers online chat, mail, phone and a form whose categories include Customer Service/Tracking and Claims, so give the PRO when you write.

Not on TrackParcel, which looks up PROs only. Dayton's glossary describes the bill of lading as the shipper's document that the driver takes to the Service Center with the freight, and a purchase order as a buyer's request to a seller; neither is the PRO sticker.
Dayton's glossary calls proof of delivery the delivery receipt copy of the freight bill, dated and signed by the consignee at delivery. Its FAQ says freight documents can be found through View Images. TrackParcel never reads those images or the name of the signer.
Dayton's FAQ says it takes 30 days on average to process a claim. A delivery where the consignee or driver notes a problem on the delivery receipt before signing is what its glossary calls an exception.
