An item sent with Correos Panamá, the postal service run by COTEL, is tracked by the 13-character number its sender provides, ending in PA when posted in Panama. Three delivery attempts come before any return. No login required.

TrackParcel has confirmed that Correos Panamá's tracker answers lookups, but has not yet checked a delivered shipment end to end. The status wording below comes from the carrier's own published statuses.
From the sender: the FAQ on correospanama.gob.pa says the sender must give it to you. It is made of two letters, nine digits and two letters, ending in PA for an item posted in Panama. A parcel posted abroad keeps its origin country's letters instead, and Auto-Detect then does not suggest this post.
COTEL's system has nothing filed under that number, and TrackParcel reports it as not found. Compare each of the 13 characters with what the sender sent you. If they match, the sender has to follow it up, because a reclamo postal is opened at the agency where the item was posted.
Because every piece of merchandise has to pass customs to enter Panama, the FAQ explains. If you are then asked to pay although postage was paid, that charge is customs import tax, due once the goods are worth more than B/. 100.00.
It depends on the service, according to the Tiempos de Estadía table. EMS items stay 15 days, certificado or recomendado items and encomiendas 45 days, and ordinary general-delivery mail 30 days. Three delivery attempts come first, and a return is made both physically and in the IPS system.
Delivered, as long as it is the newest scan, dated from that row with its time read as Panama time and shown in IST. No real item from this post has been read yet, so this is how TrackParcel's code handles the IPS Web event name. Separately, the post's Tiempos de Estadía page says three delivery attempts are made before an item is sent back.
COTEL, the Dirección General de Correos y Telégrafos de Panamá, is a body attached to Panama's Ministerio de Gobierno, and its website presents the postal service as Correos Panamá. Under Seguimiento de paquetes, the site's Rastrea tu envió link opens an IPS Web Tracking page on operaciones.correospanama.gob.pa, whose item pages TrackParcel reads.
The site's FAQ names three international services: EMS, Encomiendas and Recomendado. Correo ordinario, the basic letter service, comes without tracking, so it has no number to look up. Courier firms on the site's list of companies authorised in Panama are separate businesses, not covered here.
The FAQ describes the tracking number as two letters, nine digits and two letters, and says the sender must provide it. An item posted in Panama ends in PA, and for those numbers Auto-Detect lists Correos Panamá among its suggestions. Items posted abroad end in their own country's letters, so pick the post by hand for one of those.
TrackParcel's search box strips a few labels such as AWB: or Tracking: from a pasted number, but not a Spanish one such as Número de rastreo:. That label stays attached and the lookup fails before COTEL is asked, so paste the 13 characters alone.
Although correospanama.gob.pa is written in Spanish, the tracker it links works in English, with an Item Id box under the title IPS Web Tracking/Item Tracking. IPS Web lists scans oldest first under Local Date and Time, Country, Location, Event Type, Mail Category, Next Office and Extra Information; TrackParcel shows them newest first, without names, addresses or phone numbers.
An unknown number gets “No information, please check your item identifier”, and as the page prints no time zone, TrackParcel gives every timed scan the post's home zone, even one recorded abroad. COTEL's tracker gets America/Panama, and TrackParcel shows those times converted to IST, labelled IST. No real item from this post has been read yet, so when no day or month on a page is above 12, TrackParcel picks the reading that keeps the scans in order over the shorter span.
For a number it sends to COTEL's tracker, TrackParcel shows not found only on the no-information reply. A lone ITEM line without scans, older No item found wording, a maintenance notice or the bare search form is treated as the tracker being out of service, not as a missing item.
Because the FAQ says the sender must supply the number, ask the sender to confirm it first. An item sent by correo ordinario has no tracking, so there is no number to look up for it.
A reclamo postal starts at the postal agency where the item was posted, with a note stating the intention to claim, a copy of the cédula and a copy of the factura de franqueo. For an EMS item, the invoice carrying the barcode is added as well.
The site lists customer service by phone and WhatsApp, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. For complaints, it links the government's 311 service.

No real item from this post has been read yet, and the post's pages used for this guide explain no tracker event names, so all three cards are IPS Web event names as TrackParcel's code handles them.
The one nearest the address you gave, says the FAQ. The home page maps 112 active post offices, and the Horario por Provincia page gives office hours by province, so check that estafeta's hours before going to collect.
COTEL's FAQ says an encomienda can take up to 45 days before a claim can proceed, and a recomendado item up to 30 days. It describes EMS as its express service. The claim itself starts at the agency where the item was posted.
Yes. COTEL, the Dirección General de Correos y Telégrafos de Panamá, runs the postal service, and its own site calls that service both Correos Panamá and Correos de Panamá. On TrackParcel, all three names lead to the same tracker.
